Renovation of a major building complex.

Context

CERN, the investor in this major project, has commissioned Korus Group to renovate a property complex in the heart of Paris.

The project, covering more than 3,000m², is divided between an 18th-century town house and a courtyard building.

Preservation of heritage, environmental standards, hazard management, site management in a dense urban area and complex construction: this project was a great opportunity for our teams to demonstrate their ability to manage complex projects.

Our work

As general contractor, and working closely with the project management team, we orchestrated this demanding project, which was full of challenges to overcome:

  • Renovation of the town house: replacement of all the windows without changing its appearance, renovation of the wooden flooring and doors, etc., and creation of a lift.
  • Demolition of the building overlooking the courtyard
  • Construction of a new four-floor light-frame building overlooking the courtyard.
  • Underpinning to create a ground floor to link the two buildings.
  • BREEAM Very Good and HQE sustainable building certification for the entire complex: 86% of waste was reused on this site.
